Parque das Nações is a modern centre of Lisbon that, believe it or not, used to be a waste dump. It was built to host Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition). Today, Parque das Nações in Lisbon is a business, commercial and tourist centre.

Parque das Nações boasts the famous Lisbon aquarium, Casino Lisboa, Lisbon Tower, and the Vasco da Gama shopping centre.

There is a system of cable cars taking visitors on a tour of Parque das Nações / Expo.

Hello friends. I have decided to start a blog about all things cheap in Lisbon Portugal. Many of you will find that Portugal is already cheap anyway, so what's the purpose of this "cheap lisbon" blog? Well, what you are likely to be paying as an unassuming tourist is (although you may find Lisbon cheap) still more expensive than what those of us who live here are paying. Anyway, this is also for my own amusement: I am discovering cheap Lisbon myself and am thus saving a lot of money that I would unnecessarily spend if I had the usual tourist attitude.

So, be on the lookout for great authentic cheap places in Lisbon. Get advice on where to eat, go out, find accommodation in Lisbon, etc. I will try to present some cultural events in Lisbon as well.
